I think both agents have claimed some kind of collusion. My wonder is, could this be a "fake" collusion? "Let's not sign any contracts, that way we can claim collusion and get millions more for our clients."
While Harper and Machado are the highest ranking free agents in this class, I think they are both overrated. If I think that, certainly some major league teams can see that as well.

Agree, Kevin. Both very good players, and occasionally great players, but this 10 year/$300 million talk seems a bit inflated to me. Harper has had one outstanding season so far, and some good ones. Machado seems like a major dick to me.

I guess that's an agent's job, to sell his product. But it's also the team's job to undersell (if my analogy is correct). To claim this is collusion at this point, goes a bit far.

If the Sox signed both, they'd have an outside chance at a wild-card spot. Emphasis on outside.
