Guys like McConnell and Cruz strike me as a couple of the biggest dicks in the universe, but if you yell or chant at them in restaurants until they give up and leave without eating, aren't you possibly ruining the dinner for everyone else in that restaurant? There's a part of me that takes perverse joy in making sure that these guys know that their constituents are dismayed that they are eschewing public opinion and instead acting on behalf of donors. Maybe a good rule might be that if they don't hold regular town halls then they ought to consider themselves fair game in public. But if they do hold public events, then perhaps leave them alone?
I heard that about 8 weeks ago, some restaurant refused to serve Sarah Huckleberry Sandbag. That's a little different than a public accosting. Refusing to serve someone doesn't really send a message except that you might be intolerant. An entire large group of constituents making their voice heard tells that person that it's not just one intolerant person.
I saw that yesterday or the day before, a large group of folks in Florida were aggressively screaming "fucking commie bitch...fucking piece of shit" and other nastiness at Nancy Pelosi and then began banging on the door of a room she entered.
Getting nasty these days.
