One of my favorites too .. would have been nice to see what his career would have been if he had played on two good ankles ..

Same disease that took Stan Mikita. Buckner was my all time favorite Cub.
Sharpy, you are right. Two good wheels and he's a Hall of Famer (at least borderline).

Buckner averaged 28 strike outs per year.
In the year he won batting title, he struck out 16 times- The CUBS struck out 17 times on Sunday!!
