I'm ok with Colome.  Something about the devil you know.

Seems whenever they went after an outside closer it never really panned out .. Colome has done pretty much what has been asked, even if Frank thinks he's another drama queen. But you know the Sox, whoever is the cheapest will be the man.

I look at the results.  Colome has a good ERA, a good save ratio, a decent WHIP.  I know we'd all love a closer who strikes out three guys on 9 pitches every time.  I know it's painful watching a closer with a one run lead even throw Ball 1.  I have a pitcher son.  There's nothing harder than watching him pitch that 7th inning (high school and travel play 7).  Every time they throw a non-strike it's like having your tooth drilled.  Ball 2 is like a root canal.  Ball 3 is open heart surgery and walking a guy in the last inning is a near death experience.  Still, this isn't life or death, and Colome has had one of the best conversion rates in Sox history, if not THE best.  If we can get him for a decent price, I'd keep him around.  Spending big money on an outside closer works out how often?

I kind of wonder if they might save the money and try trotting out Crotch Rocket (Garret Crochet) to be their closer this year.

I think we all dream that the next Rivera, Bruce Sutter, or even Bobby Thigpen are out there, but I'd be okay with it being Colome.

Colome to the Twinkies. I'm okay with the way it worked out. I think they are falling apart anyway.

I sometimes think that, but then it never happens.  Well run organization.

True, just when you count them out, they find a way back in. They are much like the Cardinals (without the World Series championships).
