I'm not sure which is more upsetting...that Addison Russell may be an abuser, or that Bernstein on The Score may have another soap box to get on. OK, yes, abuse is far worse. Obviously I'm being facetious. But man I do hate that holier than thou, I'm the only guy who has the guts to call out an icon for what he is Bernstein. Seems like it started with Lance Armstrong, then it was Joe Paterno, then Derek Rose, and it started to be something that became his "thing"...until it blew up in his face with Patrick Kane. He berated anyone who started their sentence with "Kaner..." because that automatically meant they had their head in the sand and they were defending a rapist. He did seem rather toned down today in talking about the Russell allegation. Not sure if that's attributable to him proceeding with caution after the Kane non-incident, or if it's because he's no longer with Boers, who certainly seemed to egg him on in his tirades, or because the 670 is the Cubs' radio network. I would like to think it's the former.
Regarding the Russell allegations...starting with the lesser. OK, it's ain't right to cheat, but C'MON ladies. These guys are getting tail in every city, multiple times a day, often with multiple women (often at the same time!). As for the abuse allegations...I suspect that won't go anywhere. If the wife didn't say anything about it, I would think she will deny it when asked. And I hate the idea of not knowing the truth, cuz that's some serious shit. Not sure if that's something that will follow him throughout his career. You'd think so, but the Starlin Castro sexual assault accusation died down pretty fast, so you never know.
