    The player the character in Bull Durham was based on, Steve Dalkowski, died at 80 - in Florida    after suffering thru alcoholic dementia .. Apparently had a fastball that exceeded 100 mph but couldn't hit the ocean from the beach

    Never been a fan of Costner's acting but l loved his love of the game.
