Glenn Beckert - 2b and #2 hitter on the 1969 Cubs and who I always thought was a good ballplayer .. .283 lifetime average ..gold gloves .. hit .341 in '71 which deserves praise no matter what league you're in … died at 79 of "natural causes" in Florida ……….. that leaves only Don Kessinger from a pretty damn good infield .. .

He bugged me the least of all Cubs from that team. A classic #2 hitter who probably would have been better had the Cubs had a legitimate leadoff hitter. Kessinger leading off? Other teams had to say "Thank You!"
May he rest in peace.

Kessinger leading off is just utterly absurd.
