If you buy a home in a neighborhood that has a homeowners' association, paying the dues to that homeowners' association are a part of the agreement when you buy that home. You can't refuse to pay because you may disagree with what they do with part of those "dues". And you certainly can't refuse to pay your homeowners' association dues and still expect to utilize the services provided by the association (the pool, the clubhouse, the snow plowing, etc.).
Janus wants the services (negotiations, contract, support), but he doesn't want to pay for them.
