Old timers...like you and Nomads? Wink

I did hear about this, long before my time, but I do remember my dad talking about him from '59.

Nomads and I resemble that remark!
I have a sneaky suspicion that Cream may also be familiar with the subject individual.
The "jungle" nickname came because as he was leading off from first, he would swing his arms back and forth

Never a big fan of Rivera's because of what my dad told me.  Baseball got him paroled from a life sentence.  Very seldom heard it spoken of. Not sure many Sox fans of the time even knew about it.  He had a good PR group.

Accused of rape and assault while in the army. Investigation couldn't prove sex had occurred so charges dropped to assault, and he was given a life sentence in the south. After 5 yrs he was paroled - but baseball did not get him out of jail, he was paroled and then started playing ball- Never got into trouble again - seems he paid his debt to society and was rehabbed, likely with the help of baseball.
Saved game 5 of the WS with a diving catch.
