Not in my district. I'm not sure, but we could be the only one in the area in school today. We haven't had Columbus Day or Veterans' Day off in over 5 years.

For a solid decade or two, I've been pretty mystified as to how the "Columbus Day" holiday has held up in the schools, especially with how liberal most school administrations are, and how it's now a thing to be pretty much down on the Columbus part of history.

Nope. It's because they want the first semester exams over by Christmas break for the high schools.
