    On October 7th ...at 83 yrs old ..don't remember a lot of Landis - tho my grandfather liked him

    Best Sox CF that I remember.  And he was a fine hitter for awhile.  But that was relative on a poor hitting team.  Landis was the #3 hitter much of the time on the World Series club.  Before Klu joined them, I remember the lineup as Aparicio, Fox, Landis, Lollar, Al Smith, Torgeson, Phillips or Goodman, Rivera or McAnany

    Here is one similar but Romano caught and Lollar moved to 1B.  Landis had surely one of the best games of his career in this one.

    I really liked him, but he rarely hit above 260=-if that

    Just looked at your link. 5-5 which got his average to .254!! As i said i liked him, but he was best in field and on bases(tho he didn't get there that often.
