Just finished watching Ken Burns' and Lynn Novicks' series on The Vietnam War on PBS and of all the things he has done, this was his best effort and most emotional. For those of us on this board who lived thru the Vietnam era - some more so than others, this brought back period of time where things were bad in this country, but yet showed that protests and unrest can change the course of the nation. It should be required watching for all students in either 8th grade or high school, as civics lessons on the potential evils of government and on how you shouldn't stop questioning anything and everything. To think that 59,000 of my generation died for this bullshit was frightening then, and unbelievable now ...not to mention all the other lives ruined, 3,000,000 Vietnamese, dreams smashed, confidence in the government gone, and the evil of 2 men - one dem and one GOP on clear display.
Everyone should watch this series.
