Sounds like there are a lotta second thoughts and rethinking this resignation by Franken.

Taking the high ground doesn't mean anything to the current GOP -so if he's quitting to show them some morality, he's stupid. If he's doing it b/c he thinks its the right thing to do - fine. If he doesn't think he did anything wrong, then he should fight it to the end of time

Especially correct regarding the GOP's view of taking the moral high ground.  The Dem party will begin making strides when they realize that McConnell, Ryan, and the dudes shoveling money to the GOP are out for one thing, and that's to absolutely destroy the Democratic party and leave them in an ash heap.  There's no desire to work together.  No desire to find common ground, hold hands, sing Kumbaya and make America better with bipartisan legislation.  Total destruction is their goal, and there are no rules.

He'll end up somewhere on TV doing a show similar to Bill Mahers. Don't forget his senate pension. No tag days required for him.

IF there is a pension?! Don't believe he is eligible- in spite of goofy post that has gone around, congressman DO NOT get lifetime pension of salary. As example, Luis Gutierrez who had said he will not run again. Has been in Congress 25 years- his salary is $174,000.
    His pension will be 67,000.
Jesse Jackson Jr. had 14 years in- his pension WHEN he turns 65 will be 43,000.
But from his tv career, don't think Al will need a tag day.
